Chartbeat is an analytics platform with a focus on user engagement and real-time monitoring.

How does Pugpig Bolt integrate with Chartbeat?

Chartbeat analytics is one of our supported analytics providers and as such should track anything in our core analytics spec.

View ID

We support two different view ID formats for Chartbeat:

1. Readable - A constructed path using the collection id and page title. This is a useful option because it’s human readable, but it’s not the best for mapping to actual pages, and it’s not guaranteed that a piece of content will have a unique id (e.g. same article in multiple timelines).
2. URL - The exact URL of the article as is configured in your CMS. This will only show once in your analytics, even if in multiple timelines.

This is a configuration option on our end so let us know which you'd prefer.

What do we need from you to get set up?

To get set up, all we need from you is your Chartbeat account ID, and for you to add the app domain to your Chartbeat dashboard (you may need to reach out to Chartbeat support to do this for you).

Note that your app domain should always be a vanity URL and will need to be added without https:// at the start ie app.pugpig.com
