App Privacy is a new section you'll start seeing in App Store Connect when managing and submitting updates to your app. This comes with a couple of new requirements, which if not followed will prevent you from submitting these updates.

Firstly you'll need a privacy policy, which Apple has required for a few years so all existing apps should already have one.

Secondly, the new App Privacy form needs to be filled out. This document serves to guide you through the process of filling out the form, which is a requirement for all apps listed on the App Store. This form should only have to be filled out once per app, but will need to be done individually for each app if you have more than one.

These recommendations are our guidance for filling out the form, and you can safely follow it word-for-word. However, if you’ve received alternative guidance or believe one of our suggestions to be incorrect, feel free to diverge from this guidance.

Note that many of the questions depend on the exact configuration of your app and the choice of services you integrate with.

The responses below are based on an app that uses our core out of the box features, including:

              • Firebase
              • GA4
              • In-app subscriptions
              • 3rd Party Authentication

If your app uses other 3rd party integrations and you are unsure how these may affect the privacy form, please reach out to us and we'll be able to provide guidance.

First enter your privacy policy, then click Get Started to begin the form.

The first section is about the types of data collected.

This section asks you to "Indicate how [each type of data] collected from this app are being used by you or your third-party partners".

Below are what we use each type for:

              1. Identifiers
                User ID
                Analytics
                App Functionality
              2. Usage data
                Product Interaction
                Analytics
              3. Diagnostics
                Crash Data
                Analytics
                Performance Data
                Analytics

For each it will ask "Are the user IDs collected from this app linked to the user’s identity?"

The answer to each one is no.

It will then ask about tracking, click next until it asks "Do you or your third-party partners use user IDs for tracking purposes?"

Again the answer for each is no if you have no digital advertising in your app (ie Google Ad Manager controlled ad slots). If you do have in-app advertising feel free to double check with us.

Once complete, you can then click Publish at the top right of the page.
