For Sale Subscriptions vs Not For Sale Subscriptions

When migrating, updating, or adding subscriptions in your app, it's important to distinguish between subscriptions that should be available for users to purchase (for sale) and those that should continue to be honoured but are no longer available for new purchases (not for sale).

We understand you may have existing users with active subscriptions from a previous app provider, or legacy subscriptions that were once offered in your Pugpig app. To ensure a smooth transition and a consistent user experience, please provide a complete list of:

Subscriptions you want to be on sale – these are subscriptions that users should be able to view and purchase in the app.

Subscriptions you want to be not for sale – these will not be visible for new purchases but must still be included in the app’s binary so existing users retain access to their entitlements.

This distinction is vital to preserve access for current subscribers while ensuring only the correct subscriptions are visible and purchasable moving forward.

Where to Find Subscription Product Details

To gather the information needed, here’s where you can find the relevant subscription details in the respective app stores:

App Store Connect (Apple)

• Log in to App Store Connect.
• Go to My Apps and select your app.
• Navigate to In-App Purchases.
• Under the Subscriptions section, you'll find all your subscription groups and products.
• Click into each subscription to view:
• Product ID
• Subscription durations
• Status (whether it is available for sale)
• Pricing and availability by region

Google Play Console

• Log in to Google Play Console.
• Select your app from the dashboard.
• Go to Monetise > Products > Subscriptions.
• Here you'll see a list of subscription products with details including:
• Product ID
• Current status (Active / Inactive)
• Whether it is available for new purchases
• Pricing and offers
