Using HTML adverts inside your editions
Table of Contents
Pugpig Bolt will automatically include full page magazine adverts in PDF or Enhanced PDF editions. However, there may be times when you wish to insert HMTL adverts yourself into your edition. There are two options to do this
Full Page Images
If you want to have full page adverts with a single link to the advertiser, you can insert a Full Page Image content type. These can then be arranged in the flat plan.
Full page images can be added in your Express CMS site. You should be able to see the content type under the main ‘Content’ sub-menu, if not reach out to Pugpig Support to turn it on. Add a new one, tag it to the relevant edition and you should be able to drag and drop in the flatplan to order it how you like.
HTML ZIPs
You can use the HTML ZIP content type to insert any HTML pages you'd like. HTML Zips can be used for highly interactive adverts created with the HTML tool or your choice (e.g. Hype, Canva, Shorthand, etc).
We have also created a basic, responsive HTML template you can use to include multiple fractional adverts on a page - typically 2 half page or 3 thirds page.
You can download the following templates as a starting point which includes example image ads and instructions to manipulate the markup to display your media in a vertical stacked orientation or a horizontal orientation:
Note that we recommend the total size of any HTML page should be ideally less than 1 MB.
Vertically stacked template: https://static.helpjuice.com/helpjuice_production/uploads/upload/image/12274/3886324/html_ad_template_stacked.zip
Horizontal image template:

Should you need greater interactivity and/or orientation beyond the capabilities of the above templates, you will need a developer to modify the code inside.
