Header bidding in Pugpig Bolt

Pugpig Bolt supports header bidding through Prebid.js and Amazon Transparent Ad Marketplace (ATAM) for display ads in articles and Google ad cards.

Header bidding allows your demand partners to bid for advertising inventory before the ad request reaches Google Ad Manager (GAM). GAM continues to select and serve the ad alongside your other advertising demand.

Supported bidders

Our bundled Prebid.js build includes adapters for:

• Microsoft Advertising / AppNexus
• Magnite (Rubicon)
• PubMatic
• OpenX
• Index Exchange
• Criteo
• TripleLift
• Sharethrough
• Sovrn
• Smart AdServer

You’ll need an account with each demand partner you want to use, along with their required publisher or placement IDs. Your advertising team is responsible for the corresponding setup in GAM.

Using your own Prebid script

You can supply your own hosted Prebid.js build if you need additional bidders or modules.

The script must be available over HTTPS and contain the adapters your setup requires. Pugpig manages the auction and GAM integration, so please supply a Prebid.js library build without its own auction or GAM wrapper.

• The bidders you want to use.
• The IDs and configuration supplied by your demand partners.
• Any placement-specific requirements.
• Your hosted Prebid.js URL, if you want to use your own build.
